Sustainable and Resistant Road Infrastructures: The Role of the Envision Framework as a Guide to a New Design Approach

In Italy, resilience and sustainability concepts are generally applied to road infrastructures (mainly in terms of pavements) order minimize the environmental impacts their construction maintenance. this paper Envision framework has been adopted evaluate a project, optimizing its for both short-term long-term impacts. The rating approach considering not only pavements analysis but also complete project process. authors have upgraded original infrastructures, compliance with Italian regulatory framework. Four scenarios considered. first allowed us understand which credits can be evaluated available documentation. second represents snapshot state project. third evaluates effect improvement performance level obtained by analyzing potential increases. Finally, last considers “pending” credits.
